Photoroom alternative - 30 free photos, no card needed

The Photoroom alternative that doesn't make you do quota math.

Photoroom meters batch exports - one image equals one export, and exporting the same photo to Amazon, Etsy, and eBay burns three. Product Scene counts the source image once and lets you export to every platform for free. Background removal, marketplace-accurate resizing, persistent batches. From $9/month - less than Photoroom Pro.

No watermark on free trial. Cancel anytime. Your batches stay re-exportable.

Photoroom is a good editor. It's an expensive way to sell on more than one platform.

Nothing wrong with the background remover - it's genuinely good. The friction shows up when you sell the same product in more than one place.
Photoroom meters batch exports. One image is one export. So a 100-photo session that needs to go to Amazon, Etsy, and eBay isn't 100 exports - it's 300. The Pro plan's batch mode also caps at 50 images per session, which turns a single photo shoot into multiple runs. And the AI credits that power backgrounds and shadows are deliberately unpublished - Photoroom says the numbers move with their costs - so you find out where the ceiling is by hitting it.
That's three separate ways to be surprised by a bill: per-export metering, session caps, and credits you can't count in advance.

You should be able to price your photo workflow before you run it.

Photoroom vs. Product Scene, honestly.

When is Photoroom the better call? If you sell on exactly one platform and never cross-list, the per-export model never bites you - and Photoroom's editor is excellent. On annual billing, Pro at ~$7.50 undercuts us on sticker price. We're not going to pretend otherwise. Product Scene wins specifically when you list the same product in two or more places, because that's where “count the source image once, export everywhere free” turns into real money and real time saved.

One source image. Every platform. No per-export tax.

Every bulk editor in this category meters something you do tothe image - each export, each operation, each AI credit. So the moment you sell on multiple marketplaces, you're paying again every time the same photo goes somewhere new.

ProductScene counts the photo you upload. Once. After that, export it to Amazon at 2000×2000, Etsy at 2000 square, Shopify at 4:5, eBay at 1600, Poshmark vertical, Instagram square - every spec you sell on - and none of it touches your quota. Upload 1,000 photos a month on Lite and stop tracking export math entirely.

That's the whole pitch. It's not a gimmick - it's a different unit of accounting, and it's the one that matches how multichannel sellers actually work.

Reliability at volume

Batch processing that doesn't drop files at 50+.

Every image is an independent job with automatic retry. If 2 of your 50 photos fail, the other 48 still finish - and the failures are refunded automatically, no support ticket, no email to a bot. You don't lose the batch because one file misbehaved.

Marketplace dimensions

Built around what each platform actually wants.

Amazon 2000×2000 pure white. Etsy 2000 square. Shopify 4:5. eBay 1600. Poshmark 1024×1280 vertical. Mercari 1080 square. Depop 1280. Vinted 800×1067. Facebook Marketplace 1200. Instagram 1080. We crop intelligently around the product and pad with whitespace when ratios don't match - never crop into the product to force a fit.

Moving over takes one upload.

There's nothing to migrate. You're not importing a library or rebuilding templates - you upload your next photo session and process it here instead.

Free tier gives you 30 photos to run a real batch and compare the output side by side with what you'd get from Photoroom. If ours doesn't clear the bar for a live listing, you've lost nothing and you go back. If it does, you upgrade.

We'd rather you test it on your own products than take our word in a comparison table.

Questions sellers actually ask.

Is Product Scene actually cheaper than Photoroom?

On monthly billing, yes - Lite is $9 vs. Photoroom Pro at $12.99. On annual billing Photoroom Pro is ~$7.50, so cheaper on sticker. But that compares plan prices, not what you actually spend. Photoroom meters every export, so cross-listing to 3 platforms triples your usage on the same photos. We don't. If you sell on one platform, Photoroom may cost less. On two or more, we almost always cost less per finished image.

What's the difference between 'exports' and 'source images'?

Photoroom counts each exported image against your batch limit - one image, one export, and the same photo exported to a second platform counts again. We count the photo you upload. Export it to as many platforms as you want; the quota doesn't move.

Do I lose anything by switching?

Nothing to migrate. Upload your next session here instead. Your free 30 photos let you compare output directly before paying.

Does the free trial have a watermark?

No. Free output is identical to paid - same quality, no watermark. Limits are 30 lifetime photos and a single platform export. Like it, upgrade. Don't, walk away.

What about AI backgrounds and lifestyle scenes?

Lite includes 20 AI scene generations a month as a stated number you can see up front - not credits that change with our costs. Higher tiers include more.

Which platforms do you support?

Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Vinted, Facebook Marketplace, Instagram. We add platforms when customers ask - tell us if you list somewhere we don't cover.

Do you have a Photoroom-style mobile app?

Not yet. Product Scene runs in the browser, including on mobile. Native apps are on the roadmap. If a phone-first editing app is your core need, that's a fair reason to stay on Photoroom for now.

Run one batch. Decide for yourself.

30 photos free. No card. No watermark. Compare it against Photoroomon your own products - if we don't save you time and money, you've lost nothing.
